We get asked the difference between our locking mechanisms all the time. Both of our locking mechanisms offer the utmost security and strength but the difference really lies in the functionality..
The Heritage slam lock is a 5 point lock which engages as soon as the door closes, therefore you will need a key to open the door again. With the heritage slam lock you can choose from the round escutcheon which is paired with one of our pull bar handles, or the finger pull escutcheon. It will automatically be supplied with a thumb turn on the inside of the door.
Our Yale 3 lock has 10 locking points , four roller cams, two linear bolts, two hooks, a thumb latch and a dead bolt. You choose from a lever or lever pad handle (available in multiple colours) and a thumb turn is an optional extra.
Whichever locking mechanism you choose for your Palladio Door, your home will be extremely safe with one of the strongest composite doors on the market, just watch our strength test video for reassurance!
